Vision Statement

There can be no common journey without a shared destination.

We share a vision for a Lethbridge and Southern Alberta.  which offers the highest quality of life of any similar size City in Canada, while being in the top 10 percent for income, affordability and quality of life.

location. Location. Location.

Lethbridge is perfectly situated as the Regional Capital of Southern Alberta.

Lethbridge sits comfortably in the “sweet spot” mid-way between the BC and Saskatchewan borders, and mid-way between Calgary and the US border.   From this location the city is well positioned to punch above its weight and facilitate economic, cultural and educational activities for the 30-odd Cities, Towns and Villages of Southern Alberta.  It is for this reason the Prairies Economic Development Canada has selected Lethbridge to base it new office to serve Southern Alberta.  With economic impact in the range of several billion dollars, our area home to businesses and resources critical to the supply of goods and services needed regionally, nationally and around the world.

Included in this economic alliance are both the Kainai and Piikani Niitsitapi

When the subject of growth comes up, many people naturally become nervous with questions that demand answers.  What makes the opportunity for Southern Alberta so encouraging are all these factors working together to our advantage:

A.  Our relatively low population density and room for growth.

B. The excellent highway system serving the entire area.

C.  Many picturesque, affordable and accessible rural communities.

D.  Strategically positioned on North-South international and East-West national transportation corridors.

E.  Ample supplies of labor, energy, water, crops, land and clean air.

Combining these factors means we can double or triple the size of the regional economy, with a commensurate growth in the population, without degrading our quality of life.
In fact, the increase in the number of jobs in all categories will mean substantial benefits so far as incomes, amenities and diversity are concerned.
